Matt Crenshaw was an assistant for three seasons, and left to become the head men’s basketball coach at IUPUI. Those first three all have been regular starters with BSU and earned recognition from the Mid-American Conference in one way or another should they have chosen to stay, they likely would have been frontrunners to start for coach James Whitford’s squad this upcoming season. Walton, Jarron Coleman and Zach Gunn have all explored the option to transfer, with El-Amin (Rhode Island), Walton (Akron) and Coleman (Missouri) officially joining other collegiate programs.
In the time since the 2020-21 season ended, Ball State men’s basketball has seen its roster and coaching staff change significantly.
